One of the best actors in the entire Bollywood acting scene is a guy with quite a lineage for talent from within his family. Salman Khan is one of the most popular Bollywood actors in Tinsel Ville and is the son of Salim Khan who has been involved in the industry for many years. Khan is not an impos
ing gentleman, standing only five feet and seven inches, but his handsome looks have made the actor an instant success among the Bollywood community.
Though it's taken a little while for the 41-year old actor to find his niche in the acting world, his career has taken off as of late. His first role in "Biwi Ho To Aisi" did not draw much acclaim, but the actor used that experience to parlay success in greater roles. His big break in acting came soon after he starred in that role when award winning director Sooraj Barjatya came calling for his services in the movie, "Maine Pyar Kiya". That movie was a rousing success at the box office and smashed just about every record imaginable.
Almost overnight, Salman Khan went from being a little known Bollywood afterthought to being one of the most sought after stars on the market. His good fortune has continued in the recent hit film "Patthar Ke Pool" in which Khan was fortunate enough to star alongside Raveena Tandon. As is the case with many popular Bollywood types, his career has seen its ups and downs since his first big break. He hasn't had the support to sustain constant box office success, but every time it looks like Khan's career is ready to flop, he gets a break in a movie that's a rousing success.
That was exactly what happened when Khan got a role in "Hum Aapke Hain Koun." That film, which was probably even bigger than "Maine Pyar Kiya", did much to ensure that Khan's career would always be thought of as a success. From there, it's been pretty much smooth sailing for the actor.
Khan has been the recipient of certain acting awards during his career. Recently, he was named as Film Fare's best supporting actor for his role in "Kuch Kuch Hota Hain". That film was a great success and Khan's maturity in the supporting role shows his maturity as a professional actor.
